Le Havre
Le Havre, a port city in France, boasts a unique architectural style shaped by its reconstruction after World War II. Designed by architect Auguste Perret, the city's post-war architecture is characterized by the extensive use of reinforced concrete, creating a modernist, geometric aesthetic. Perret's designs emphasize clean lines, symmetry, and open spaces, exemplified by landmarks such as the Church of Saint-Joseph and the town hall. Many world-renowned architects have left their mark on the city, such as Oscar Niemeyer and Jean Nouvel. This cohesive, innovative urban planning earned Le Havre a UNESCO World Heritage designation in 2005.
